Anomaly Detection for Ultra Low Latency Event Selection at the LHC
Project Goal
This project aims to implement anomaly detection on FPGA devices in order to look for physics that may have been missed with standard trigger techniques. Tools such as high level synthesis languages, and ML accelerator engines will be deployed to facilitate the implementation when advantageous. The CMS and ATLAS experiments will work together to share experience and pitfalls in order to make use of this solution already before the end of Run-3.
